Efforts to track and slow the pandemic are a reminder of just how much information is created, collected and stored every day. The rapid spread of the virus has meant that data is being shared at an unprecedented scale between both public and private sector entities. The move to a remote workforce combined with hundreds of thousands of COVID-19 data points means that organizations need a way to quickly and accurately manage their unstructured data stemming from COVID-19 activities.
We’ve created a COVID-19 Rule-Pack which helps public and private entities to discover, map and classify data associated with COVID-19 work across their data estate. These rules are designed to help provide corporate visibility into data related to the pandemic. The “Novel Coronavirus Classification” Rule-Pack fuses pathophysiology, zoonosis, overall epidemiology (try saying that out loud 3 times!) extraction rules, among others, with our core software product Discovery Center.
These customizable rules also help ensure that federal agencies can rapidly respond to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests and reduce the time burden on staff resources. Similarly, this Rule-Pack can help private companies prepare for potential government legislation which could require documentation of pandemic actions as a wave of sensitive data continues to be generated.
These COVID-19 rules:
Businesses can have a huge positive impact and we feel strongly about working together as a society to support one another,” said Peter Baumann, Active Navigation CEO. “With massive amounts of COVID-19 data being shared at an unprecedented scale, we want to actively support our customers with tools they can implement quickly and securely.”
Our team at Active Navigation are focused on providing solutions the best we can. This is the first iteration of the Rule-Pack and we will continue to update and enhance them over time. If you’re a current customer, you can download the Rule-Pack in the Support Portal. If you’re interested in learning more about our COVID-19 resources, please contact us – we’re happy to share more information about the extraction rules and potential use cases!
