Privacy Software Leader Recognized for Storage & Data Protection, Data Security, and Data Management
WASHINGTON, DC – November 9, 2022 — ActiveNav, a leading data privacy and governance software provider, has been recognized in three more of Gartner’s prestigious 2022 Hype Cycles: Hype Cycle for Storage and Data Protection Technologies, Hype Cycle for Data Security, and Hype Cycle for Data Management. ActiveNav is identified by Gartner as a sample vendor to evaluate an organization’s Data Discovery and Management (DDM) needs, which Gartner previously referred to as “File Analysis”. Gartner’s report on Data Management, authored by analysts Donald Feinberg, Philip Russom and Nina Showel, observes that “[d]ata management is rapidly changing due to new technologies that focus on augmentation and automation.” The report also states that “enterprises need a holistic view of critical technological capabilities” if they’re to “succeed with [data & analytics] initiatives.”

Regarding security, DDM tools allow organizations to discover, analyze, index, search, track, and report on sources of both unstructured and structured data. This increases regulatory compliance, risk management, storage management and data analytics capabilities within organizations.
